Watchmen novel5/28/2023 ![]() Just be forewarned, there are two versions of the trade paperback floating around. It's cheap and it's readily available, and that's all most readers need to hear. This collection has been in print more or less constantly since DC first collected the series in the late '80s. Method 2 – The Trade Paperback It's safe to say the majority of Watchmen readers experienced the story through the standard trade paperback format. ![]() ![]() In short, unless the hunt is half the fun for you, don't bother trying to collect the individual issues. DC won't be reprinting the subsequent 11 issues, though, so don't go thinking completing your collection will be that easy. This is a nice method of experiencing the first chapter in its original format. Aside from nicer printing quality, the reprint will be very similar to the original. That said, in January, DC will be reprinting issue #1 at the original cover price of $1.50. Particularly if you want your copies in good condition, purchasing the original issues will be by far the most expensive method of reading Watchmen. Given its popularity, it should come as no surprise that a full run of the original Watchmen issues can set you back a fair amount of green. ![]() DC released Watchmen as a 12-issue maxi-series from 1986 to 1987.
